“I’ve enjoyed being part of a wonderful group of people who have the same career goals. I love being around students who are excited to take their education to the next level. Most of all I have enjoyed the responsibility and confidence Greentree has given me. I’m all set to go to college and pursue my degree in nursing thanks to Greentree.
“The staff at Greentree will work with you to ensure a successful future. Making the choice to come to Greentree truly gave me the confidence I needed to work in the health care field.”
Amy Loper, Franklin High School and Greentree Health Science Academy
“Greentree helped me figure out what career was best for me and supported my dreams to help me get to a point where I could challenge myself. The teachers at Greentree are always there to offer a word of encouragement and to challenge their students to excellence. Greentree has prepared me for harder, higher level classes. It will broaden your horizons and forge friendships that will last forever. If you’re interested in the health care field, Greentree is for you!”
Jennifer Salas, Medical Billing and Coding
Jennifer Salas of Maineville, Ohio, signed up for the Warren County Career Center’s medical billing and coding program in 2006. “My friend actually convinced me to take the course with her,” she said. “I was working at a dead-end job with no benefits and I wanted more for myself.”
The course took 10 months to complete. Jennifer started in September and graduated in June. In July she took her CCA exam to become certified in coding. Then she did her 100-hour externship in August to finish her course at the career center. “It was all very simple to get signed up for, which was a relief to me,” she said. “Everyone there was very helpful to get me registered and funded. I am now working at Bethesda North Hospital as an outpatient coder and I have been here a year and a half. I love my job here – it is a great place to work! I would like to get my CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) certification in the future but this is where I plan to stay!”
Jennifer credits WCCC as a major force in her success. “My parents are farm workers who couldn’t afford to send me to school. Thanks to the career center I was able to get an education at a cost we could afford and now I have a career and the confidence in knowing I accomplished what I didn’t think I could!”
Mike Chasteen, Pharmacy Technician
“After 15 years as a blue collar worker, and with the business I worked at closing, I didn't want to go through that again,” Mike said. “Seeing what's going on today, I feel comfortable that I made the right choice to go into the health field.”
