Greentree Health Science Academy is a model public/private collaboration designed to align secondary, adult workforce and post-secondary education to meet the growing need for health care workers in southwest Ohio.
Greentree serves traditional and non-traditional students. We develop clear educational and career pathways directly linked to opportunities for employment and career advancement in health care.
Two key principles govern the collaborative:
- Greentree is student-centered, not institution-centered. The needs of the student and employer will be met in the most cost-effective, non-competitive manner. Partnerships work to develop articulations with existing degree programs to avoid cost duplication.
- The educational partners in Greentree work from the position that the lowest cost alternative that meets student and employer needs will always be the approach taken.
Supporting Recruitment and Retention
Greentree does more than educate future health care workers. We also help employers retain employees by providing opportunities for educational and career advancement as a longer-term strategic investment. We open new portals for hospital employees who may not be employed in providing direct health care support to patients.
Greentree works with hospitals to outline career and educational paths leading to advancement so that employees can take advantage of courses and programs available where they work, at times that fit their schedules.
Students are not required to go to a specific college, university or adult education program. Instead, Greentree provides a full array of cost-effective, non-duplicative courses and programs that enable students to reach their educational and career goals — and help employers hire, retain and develop their workforce.
