High School FAQ
- Who can attend Greentree Health Science Academy?
Ohio sophomores in Butler County, Warren County and Hamilton County’s Northwest Local School District may apply to the academy for admission as juniors. The Greentree Tech Prep program is offered during the junior and senior years. It’s a joint program of Warren County Career Center and Butler Tech.
- Where is the high school located?
The high school is in Monroe, Ohio, at 101 West Elm Street.
- How many students attend?
Approximately 250 juniors and seniors are enrolled in the high school.
- How do I know if I can get in?
You can apply for admission if you are a student from one of the schools served by the academy (see above), and you have a 2.0 or better grade point average. You must also have completed an Algebra I course and a college prep science course, both with a final grade of C or better. If your application is approved, you will receive an acceptance letter from the academy. Final placement is contingent upon successful completion of the current school year. If students are on an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), they will be conditionally accepted pending an IEP meeting between the Greentree career-technical special education coordinator and the student’s home school special education coordinator.
- Is there any cost to attend?
There is no cost for tuition to attend the academy at this time. Students are required to pay a small fee for membership in the Skills USA student organization, and a separate fee to the State of Ohio to take the state nurse aide test.

- What will I be qualified to do when I graduate?
Greentree students gain skills in patient care, dental assisting, nursing, information management and other areas of health care. The high school helps students discover their areas of interest and prepares them for further education in a wide range of careers, including health information management; imaging, laboratory or medical technology; nursing; pharmacy; or physical, occupational or respiratory therapy.
