Juniors in the Warren County Career Center Greentree Health Science Academy spent time this spring learning from mentors at Otterbein Lebanon Retirement Community during their internships. Jacob Conley, Franklin, said he is interested in biomedical engineering. He worked in resident care with Special Care Assistant Michelle Cantrell, helping residents with their meals and clearing trays.
Taylor Lindsay, Little Miami, wants to work in a similar facility someday doing patient/resident care. She got some experience in that with her internship, and she is shown here discussing work with Wendy Davis, Unit Secretary, and Kelly Jaeger, Special Care Assistant.
The students all have the opportunity to take the State-Tested Nursing Assistant exam soon. The certification is required for anyone working in a healthcare facility doing direct patient/resident care.
